This year, we are grateful to introduce the Caring for the Cloisters Annual Operating Appeal, a new annual fund created to sustain the day-to-day mission and long-term care of this sacred place. Through this appeal, our community is invited to help preserve the peace, beauty, hospitality, and spiritual excellence that make the Cloisters a place of grace for all who are called here.
Your generosity helps ensure that financial limitations never prevent someone from encountering Christ through the retreat experience. It supports the ongoing care of the Stations of the Cross, a sacred cornerstone of prayer and reflection at the Cloisters. It helps underwrite the retreat programming, clergy stipends, travel, hospitality, kitchen operations, and campus maintenance that allow every guest to enter fully into silence, prayer, and encounter with God.
Leadership gifts help sustain the spiritual excellence, hospitality, and thoughtful stewardship that define the Cloisters experience.
Those who make a gift of $2,500 or more will be welcomed into the Caring for the Cloisters Giving Circle, with opportunities for unique donor experiences such as a yearlong membership to the Stations of the Cross or the Cloisters Ignatian Prayer App, invitations to Sunset Stations events, and more.
Where Your Gift Makes an Impact
- Give the Gift of Retreat: Help ensure that financial limitations never prevent someone from encountering Christ in the retreat experience. A gift of $2,500 makes it possible for nearly three people to attend a retreat who otherwise could not. A gift of $5,000 opens the door for five members of our community to step away from the noise of daily life and enter into prayer, healing, and spiritual renewal.
- Care of the Stations of the Cross: The Stations of the Cross are a sacred cornerstone of the prayer experience at the Cloisters. A gift of $10,000 allows for maintenance of multiple Stations, and a gift of $,000 provides for the full annual maintenance of the Stations.
- Spiritual Excellence: Support for retreat programming helps underwrite clergy stipends and travel, allowing the Cloisters to welcome gifted retreat leaders from across the world.
- Preserving Contemplation, Beauty, and Welcome: Support sustains the behind-the-scenes essentials that make the retreat experience possible, including kitchen operations, hospitality services, and the preservation and maintenance of the sacred campus and facilities.
