Jeff and Maria have been connected to the Cloisters from the very beginning. Their journey began by attending retreats in the early years, and their involvement soon grew into volunteer commitments that continue today.
When reflecting on what The Cloisters on the Platte has brought to their lives, longtime Cloisters community members, Maria and Jeff Sauvageau describe it simply as “a great gift.”
For Jeff, the impact of his retreats has been profound. He shared, “Being in the quiet reflection of Jesus while at the Cloisters has become a favorite time each year. It is a special place.”
Through their annual retreats, Jeff and Maria have experienced countless spiritual graces. Before long, they knew they wanted to invest not only their time, but also their financial support.
Maria shared, “We have seen many beautiful moments for ourselves and others, and we have witnessed the impact the Cloisters has on so many. We are joyful to make our annual gifts because we know the importance of ensuring that the Cloisters is always available to those who choose to slow down, reflect, pray, and give time to God.”
For Jeff and Maria, the Cloisters is truly a gift and a blessing. They pray it will always remain a sacred place where people can come to encounter God for generations to come.
